S. Rand Werrin, DDS, was raised on the main line of Philadelphia. He attended Lower Merion High School where he was All Suburban Philadelphia football player, State District Wrestling Champion and an All Star baseball player.

He enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh and found fame as the Pitt Panther for two years. From Pitt, he attended Temple Dental School where he graduated at the top of his class and became a Captain in the United States Air Force at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He then returned to Pittsburgh and joined one of the most renowned prosthetic dental practices in the country. He partnered with Charles Miller for 41 years and Jack Gruendel for 35 years. During this time he became an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and was the advisor for the Dental Department at Montifiore Hospital. During his professional career he lectured nationally and internationally on cosmetic and restorative dentistry.

In his spare time, Dr. Werrin invented the most popular dental impression tray in the world with 5 patents and 13 different products.

Additionally, he was the manager of 2 world class boxers, was the managing partner and owner of race horses, and practiced sports psychology with professional golfers, Panthers, Steelers, Penguins, and high school athletes.

He was the former president of the Oakland Kiwanis, a founding member of the Oakland Business Improvement District, President of the East End Dental Society, President of the Pittsburgh Dental Research Club, and a fellow in the American, International and General Dentistry Academies.

His hobbies include golf, basketball, astronomy, photography, and hypnosis. He’s an avid sports fan who really knows how to enjoy every aspect of life including traveling the world with his wife, Karen.
